Why Take Nutritional Supplements?

We are all different! Many people have special bionutritional needs that can be supported by supplements. The widespread use of chemical fertilizers has enabled farmers to produce market-acceptable, "wholesome-appearing" foods from nutrient-depleted soils. These foods have been further deprived of nutrients by modern processing methods that advocate preserving, freezing, heating, canning, coloring, etc. Natural health care professionals agree that many health problems can be caused by nutrient-deficient diets. With today's polluted environment and high-stress lifestyles, there are more reasons than ever for taking nutritional supplements. People often feel healthier and more energetic when they take supplements. Supplements can help increase overall fitness and well-being, protect against premature aging and support the immune system. Taking supplements makes GOOD SENSE!!!

How Exercise Speeds Up A Slow Metabolism

Your success depends on establishing-and maintaining-a daily aerobic routine. To speed the release of fat from your cells researchers agree that a daily 30 minutes of gentle, continuous aerobic activity is a must. You burn fat once you reach your target heart rate, otherwise known as your fat-burning zone. This simple formula can help you locate yours:
**Subtract your age from 220. This is the maximum number of beats per minute your heart can achieve during exercise. Your target heart rate is 60% to 90% of this number.
**If you can, exercise for 30 minutes with your heart rate falling within the range of your target heart rate. If necessary, you can work your way up to 30 continuous minutes by exercising for three 10-minute periods (you'll still get the same results). As you improve your stamina, aim for 30 minutes of exercise within the range of your target heart rate without a break. Experts say evena modest weight loss of 5% to 10% of body weight can have a favorable impact on your overall health.
Once you achieve your target heart rate, your body releases adrenaline, causing your fat cells to release fat into the blood stream. When the fat passes an exercising muscle, the muscle picks it up and burns it as a source of energy. As the body withdraws fat from the cells, they begin to shrink, eventually making you appear slimmer.
